Applications open for Renewable Energy Founder Forum
Successful startups will have the opportunity to present their pitch at Innovation Bay forum in July
Startups in the renewable energy sector are invited to submit pitches to the third annual Renewable Energy Founder Forum.
The event, a partnership between ARENA and Innovation Bay, aims to pair investors with renewable energy companies at the forefront of technological innovation.
Selected applicants will be invited to attend the forum in July and make their pitch to a community of Australia’s leading renewable energy experts, investors and customers.
After two years of rolling lockdowns across Australia, the 2022 forum in Sydney will once again provide the opportunity to meet in person.
UPDATED: Renewable Energy Founder Forum returns to roaring success
Previous attendees have included companies developing some of Australia’s most forward-thinking renewable energy projects.
Sydney solar manufacturer 5B attended the event in 2019, helping raise capital for their next-generation modular plug-and-play solar product, the Maverick.
Last year, ARENA announced a $14 million grant for 5B to upgrade and automate production and deployment of the Maverick system.
Victorian “solar thermal” pioneer RayGen is another beneficiary of the Renewable Energy Founder Forum matchmaking, having attended the event in 2019.
RayGen has since announced a $30 million demonstration of their solar and storage technology in Carwarp, Victoria.
Guest speakers for the founder forum are yet to be announced, but previous years’ lineups have included industry names like Atlassian CEO and founder Mike Cannon-Brookes, Tesla Chair Robyn Denholm and Australia’s former Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel.
