The Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP) has entered it’s new phase, ACAP2.0, and has been renewed to reflect the 30:30:30 goals and Australia’s ambition to be a renewable energy superpower. The objective of ACAP2.0 include:
- Deliver an improvement in efficiency to over 30%, with new technology
- Research focused on finding the best material combination and on developing the best device structures;
- Ensuring emerging solar cell technologies are reliable and durable
- Working with industry on scaling up innovation and improve manufacturability of new technologies
- Ensure solar grows sustainably, including materials supply and end of life solar
- Provide high quality training opportunities for the next generation of photovoltaic researchers and to share knowledge with stakeholders including energy consumers, industry and policymakers.
