Edition 11 of ARENA Insights shines a spotlight on the researchers who are changing the dynamics of photovoltaic R&D in Australia through innovation and international collaborations.

The launch of our new investment priorities highlights ARENA’s focus on delivering the greatest possible impact through our projects. Our support is helping to build Australia’s future energy system by creating a pathway to commercialisation for many new technologies and businesses that would otherwise be blocked.
One of ARENA’s biggest successes has been its $290 million in funding support to research and development (R&D) in photovoltaic (PV) technology. This has helped make PV competitive with conventional energy sources and address challenges unique to the Australian environment.
This month we’re proud to introduce a few researchers who are changing the dynamics of PV R&D in Australia through innovation and international collaborations.
We also look at world record progress that has been made in silicon, perovskite, iii-v semiconductor and organic based PV as well as highlights from an ARENA-funded CSIRO project and the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP).
