This submission outlines ARENA’s relevant experience with renewable energy generation, storage technologies, and their interaction(s) with the electricity system – both the secure and reliable operation of the grid, as well as the implications for market operations. The latter part of this submission outlines issues for market design and longer-term policy to help inform the Review’s areas of focus. The submission also outlines ARENA’s broader approach to enabling affordable, reliable electricity supply with a high proportion of renewable energy.
