Introducing Energy Storage for Commercial Renewable Integration (ESCRI)
The $30 million Energy Storage for Commercial Renewable Integration (ESCRI) project located adjacent to, and connected to, ElectraNet’s Dalrymple substation in the Yorke Peninsula was handed over for commercial operation in December 2018. Supported by ARENA with funding of $12 million, the 30 MW / 8 MWh grid scale battery is by ElectraNet, with market trading functions leased to AGL under a long term lease agreement. The facility was constructed by Consolidated Power Projects in association with power systems giant ABB and South Korea’s Samsung who supplied the rechargeable Li-ion batteries.
