This project’s aim was to develop low-cost tools based on consumer electronics for use in silicon solar photovoltaics (PV) manufacturing and research. The reduction in cost is expected to arise from the replacement of high-cost niche PV production equipment. The development of these low-cost yet highly capable tools is expected to benefit the current PV manufacturing and research communities.
