This report was prepared for the Australian Renewable Energy Agency’s (ARENA) International Geothermal Expert Group (IGEG) to provide an overview of geothermal energy development in Australia. It describes the nature of Australia’s geothermal energy resources and recent activities in the Australian geothermal energy sector. It covers activities conducted by the private sector, the research sector, and government.
