This report provides insights into the impact of EV’s on distribution networks and the ability of DNSP’s to forecast and manage network loads in periods of low and high demand. The report also details consumer behaviour in relation to the project.

The Final Knowledge Sharing Report (this report) captures the key lessons learnt over the course of the trial covering project execution and behavioural and technical insights gained and analysed throughout the trial on the 170 participants across the participating networks themselves, their experience in participating in the trial, the experience and approach implemented by networks and JET Charge to develop capability to undertake the trial, implementing and testing the technology both within and outside of the DR and SS events. Considering the small number of participants in the trial relative to those that have an EV, these participants and therefore the insights gained from the participants are more likely to represent behaviour and characteristics of early-adopters that are highly engaged and educated around EVs and EV charging. Additionally some datasets only represent a subset of all trial participants, for example survey data where not all participants completed each survey. As such, any implementation of the insights will need to consider the applicability outside of the trial.
