This report is the final Knowledge Sharing Report for CSIRO’s Methane Fuel Carrier Project. This report describes the project, the activities undertaken, outcomes achieved and key lessons learnt.
Report extract
The project has assessed the production of methane as a readily exportable, renewable fuel derived from atmospheric carbon dioxide and hydrogen produced from renewable sources. The process entails the capture of CO2 from air using a dedicated amine1-solution based process which is integrated with the exothermic methanation process for optimum energy conversion efficiency.
